Breakthrough Seminars
A seminar which will change your understanding of reflexology.
I use the term of breakthrough to describe the purpose of this seminar to
breakout out of the conditioned and limited understanding of reflexology
and to break through into a new perspective of the therapy. The general
understanding of reflexology is that of relaxation. While this is of value,
it is only one part of a broad spectrum of its benefits.
The techniques which form the classical way of working have become
greatly diluted over the years, to such an extent that they resemble nothing
more than a feeble and ineffective type of contact to the feet. Other than
sending people to sleep, it has little, therapeutic potential.
Is it any wonder that many reflexologists, become disillusioned and
uninspired with the therapy. For more than 40 years I have been teaching
techniques and protocols which challenge the very limited approach
favoured by many reflexologists.
These seminars present a unique approach to reflexology.
When I began my career in reflexology it was regarded as a rather obscure
therapy. Although, today it has become a popular therapy, it still bears the
label of its use in regard to relaxation.
The therapeutic potential of reflexology will only manifest if focused and
authoritative techniques are used.
My lifetime in reflexology has enabled me to create and use techniques
which bear little resemblance to the classical ones used by the majority of
reflexologists.
These techniques are more focused and positive than the former. They are
easy to learn, can be quickly put into use, and can be combined with existing
techniques. The key, in fact the foundation of effective reflexology is the
ability to detect and interpret the disturbed reflexes. Without this
reflexology is just a hit and miss affair-something without substance and
uninspiring to the therapist. This subject, along with unique techniques will
be one of the main areas of focus at the seminar.
Once these have been mastered, a greater and deeper understanding
of reflexology will emerge. This will beneficial, not only to you, but,
importantly to your patients, and hence your practice.
It is my mission not only to teach effective techniques, but to inspire
and give confidence to students. The subjects of these seminars
include:
Understanding
• The development of touch
• The myth of the painful reflex
• The rule of the reflex
• The detection and interpretation of disturbed reflexes
• Contacts which maximise the full potential of reflexology
• The myth of contraindications
• The relationship between the neck, abdomen and the reflexes of the feet
• The use of the techniques in hormonal, fertility and gynaecological conditions
• How to give shorter and more effective treatment sessions
• An effective ‘First Aid’ protocol to use when away from your clinical environment
My aim is that my students will leave these seminars feeling
inspired and confident.
I look forward to meeting you.
Best Wishes
Tony Porter
